I liiiiiiiive for goals. I talk about goal setting all the time. You’ll see that it’s a consistent theme in my videos, blog posts, and conversations in real life. But what happens when you’ve set goals and expectations, only to be body slammed by reality. You look around and realize, this is NOT the life I planned. This is NOT the job I thought. This is NOT the relationship that I portray on social media.
This. Is. Awful.
There can be a war with the life that we imagine in our heads and the life that is actually being lived. When that occurs, you have two options. FAKE it or MAKE it.
You can fake it and force the expectations to become real. This is that “square peg round hole” phenomenon. Or you can reconcile that the life you’re living is one of purpose and if it’s not the way you thought, it’s because your vision was smaller than God’s for your life.
“For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.” Habakkuk 2:3
