To be chosen means that someone is selected or marked for favor or special privilege. Of all the words that I could use to describe myself, chosen really isn’t at the top. If someone asks, “Tell me about yourself,” I tend to go for the standard where I grew up, where I work, what I enjoy. Pretty typical. After all, how would people react if I introduced myself like “Hey, I’m Casey and I have been chosen by God to positively impact the world by sharing the Good News by utilizing my divine gifts?” *insert emoji side eye*
As cocky and conceited as it may sound, the second description is just as true as the first. It could be true for you too! I recently spoke to high school seniors, their parents, and a bunch of other people on this exact topic. (Here's the video)
What does it mean to be chosen? Who qualifies to be chosen? Can you get chosen or is there a cap? I answer those questions and ones about how to deal with haters and how to be saved and not weird. (Don’t give me that face. We all know those people!)
I had such a blast! It was powerful to see kids as young as 9 engaged with the message all the way up to grandparents who felt they could relate to the “young kids.” If you know of someone who is struggling with being chosen, with standing out, with fear and people, share this message with them.
And of course, leave me a comment or send me a message to share your thoughts!
