Set Apart: Embracing Your Uniqueness [Video]

In this video, I share my testimony about being set apart by default (ie. being different) then choosing to remain set apart. You may recall that I was named Miss Pretty Poppin' 2016 at the Pretty Girl’s Wait conference in July. (Woot woot!) I talk about that experience and about Coffee and Confidence!

For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. - Ephesians 2:10

A masterpiece is by definition an artist's or craftsman's best piece of work. A masterpiece is valued by others because of its rarity, the craftsmanship, and the uniqueness that is evident to all who experience it.

A masterpiece is not some run of the mill, assembly line product. It is not available everywhere because it is appreciated by a select few. Furthermore, all who seek the masterpiece will not pay the price for it.

Guess what?

You are a masterpiece.

You are uniquely designed to carry out the plans that Christ has for you. (See Jeremiah 29:11) Christ paid the ultimate price for you. (See John 3:16)

So, why then do you discount your skills? Devalue what God placed in you? Allow others to make you feel less than?

You are set apart.

Set apart may mean that people talk about you. It may mean that you face injustice. It may mean that you feel alone. But here’s the amazing thing, God has overcome all of it.

Embrace who you are…exactly as you are. Find your worth and value in Christ, not in social media, not in reality tv, and not in what others say.

If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. - John 15:19
