Commitment (noun): the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc.
In some circles, commitment is a scary word. It symbolizes the loss of freedom and increased responsibility.
In other circles, commitment is celebrated because goals are accomplished and change occurs.
What if we, as Christians, thought leaders, and influencers, were committed a cause greater than ourselves. Committed to sharing the love of Christ. Committed to loving others. Committed to uplifting in spite of what the news says.
Imagine...
While we all want to see big changes now, transformation is often hidden in the insignificant.
It's hidden in the love and self-control you exhibit when someone ticks you off.
It's hidden in the faithfulness you demonstrate showing up to work on time, daily.
It's hidden in the service that you give freely to support ministry.
So, what are you currently committed to?
Your Wednesday night shows? Your friendships who don't motivate you to pursue more? Your social calendar?
Or
Your devotional life? Your prayer life? Your servitude? Your ministry/work? Your legacy? Your future?
Where are you exhibiting commitment phobe tendencies?
Remember, great sacrifice leads to even greater reward.
